It is now the end of the second week of Covid-19 pandemic. Who announced the pandemic in March 13, I mean, it was WHO who made the announcement. Anyway, it is not now any proper time for making jokes, sorry for this.
As my town, my province, my country and gradually the whole world is closing down, it is obviously important to open up new channels for people to be in contact with each other. As our President Sauli Niinistö said, while keeping the physical distance large it is even more important to keep the human distance small. I try to follow the guidance.
So far so good. All in our family are currently doing well. We have our normal difficulties but the corona virus has not yet impacted us directly. We are all spread out, however, to different locations and now also on different sides of the province border, which now makes it impossible for us to physically meet each other. Now we will meet each other regularly over phone.
We all are practicing new ways to work. This is not very difficult as we have had good virtual meeting systems available for a long time. Now we only need to do all our things using these tools. Not really a big issue for me, it is somewhat more challenging to others, for instance teaching music over video does not really work well due to the long delays of the networks. Obviously we need 5G now to remove the latency.
Fortunately this virus attack took place in spring time. Weather is perfect for out door activities and this makes it much easier to manage with the depressive news flooding in to our video screens and newspapers day after day. I just noted that there are so many things I should have done on the back yard and now I have no excuses to collect all the leaves and dead grass and other garbage… seems like a good idea to do it just today.
As it is totally unpredictable what will happen to each one of us during the next weeks and months, I do not make promises. But conditionally I can say, that now it is also good time to make other people to know what is ongoing… and therefore I promise that I try to make some updates every once in awhile. And I would encourage others to follow.
That’s all folks for now!
